‘Exceptional’ £3m Arsenal player now close to leaving, talks are accelerating fast

With only a short period of the transfer window to go, it seems a few Arsenal youngsters could leave the club on loan or permanently.

Mikel Arteta’s side never planned to be busy with incoming transfers this month, they committed to their spending last summer.

However, the club do seem keen to use this opportunity to either offload players on the periphery of things, or get young players some game time elsewhere.

Cedric Soares falls into the first category, a player Arteta simply doesn’t need.

A move to Galatasaray seems to be gathering pace, although a deal won’t be rushed with the Turkish window open beyond the Premier League deadline.

Lino Sousa’s proposed permanent move to Aston Villa has come as a complete surprise, one that a few Arsenal fans will be disappointed with.

However, many did expect that Brazilian winger Marquinhos would go out on loan again after returning from FC Nantes.

And according to The Standard, both Corinthians and Fluminense are keen to take the 20-year-old back to Brazil on loan.

Talks for Marquinhos to leave Arsenal on loan are now moving fast

It was thought that any deal would move at a relaxed pace, the Brazilian transfer window doesn’t close until March, however, this report says otherwise.

Fluminense are said to be keen to wrap up a deal and talks have been moving fast.

The club reportedly want to add an option to make any loan permanent – something that could appeal to Arsenal.

Marquinhos hasn’t exactly set the world alight since he signed for £3m in 2022.

And although the winger has been ‘exceptional’ on occasion, Arteta’s side may be tempted to accept a small profit.

The report doesn’t indicate what kind of price Fluminense would look to establish, but it would be a surprise if it wasn’t higher than the one paid.

Either way, it does seem as if Marquinhos will leave Arsenal on loan in the near future.

However, Arsenal may now be targeting another exciting youngster for the summer.
