Everton transfer: Some fans react to hearing their club want £90k-a-week Toffees man
A number of AC Milan fans have taken to Twitter to comment on James Rodriguez amid reports from Calciomercato claiming that the Rossoneri want the Everton star in the transfer window.
Rodriguez enjoyed a promising first year at Goodison Park. There were times when he looked simply unplayable in the Premier League.
The Colombian scored six goals and provided four assists for the Toffees. His record is more impressive when you consider that he only featured 23 times in the top flight.
And perhaps there is a chance that he may not get the opportunity to add to that tally.
According to Calciomercato, he is one of several attacking targets on AC Milan’s radar. The Serie A giants, of course, lost Hakan Calhanoglu to their closest rivals.
The report lists Hakim Ziyech, Rafinha and Cengiz Under as other potential targets.
But judging by some of the reaction on social media, it would appear that many Milan fans would be delighted if James ended up at San Siro.
‘Sign him without any hesitation’: Milan fans keen to pursue Everton star transfer
Admittedly, some have their doubts about a move for James – who earns £90,000-a-week, according to Spotrac. He has struggled with injuries for much of his career. And he turns 30 next month.
However, many believe that he would be an inspired signing. Some suggested that he would be one of the very best players in Serie A if he ended up joining Milan in this window.
With that in mind, here is how some of the fans have reacted to the links with the Everton star…
I’d sign him without any hesitation, one of my favourite active players.
