Allan Saint-Maximin has left the door open for a potential move away from Newcastle United this summer, with the reported Everton target suggesting to the Chronicle that he plans to make a decision on his future once the campaign concludes.
Saint-Maximin has been a shining light for much of his spell on Tyneside. Few players have given the fans as much reason for optimism since his arrival in 2019.

However, it now appears that there are doubts over his future. He has not provided a goal or assist in the Premier League since mid-January.
And with Eddie Howe’s side improving, it does appear that Newcastle are considering cashing in on the forward in the summer. Reports have claimed that Everton and Wolves are monitoring the £50 million-rated Frenchman.

Saint-Maximin has insisted that he would love to stay. However, he is not ready to confirm where his future lies until the end of the campaign.
“To be honest every year people think I am going to leave. And finally I stay,” he told the Chronicle.
“I stayed because I love the club and love the supporters. I will see what is happening and what is the best for my future. At this time, I really want to be focused. And after the season I will decide what I will do.”
Newcastle may feel gamble on selling Allan Saint-Maximin may be worth taking
Before the takeover, the idea of selling the 25-year-old would have infuriated supporters. It would have marked an acceptance that the club are likely going down to the Championship.
Now however, it would appear that it may be an option that the club are right to consider. Saint-Maximin has been ‘incredible‘ at times throughout his spell.
But Newcastle are moving in the right direction. And they are doing so at a time when Saint-Maximin is becoming less influential to their fortunes on the pitch.
So if a club comes calling with a £50 million bid this summer, Newcastle have to consider it. And with that, Saint-Maximin may feel that the time is right to move on and try to become a talisman elsewhere.
