Everton links are now emerging with Brighton manager Graham Potter, who is someone that has previously explained his admiration for Carlo Ancelotti.
According to the Athletic, Everton’s director of football Marcel Brands rates the 46-year-old English boss.
Brands is reportedly a big fan of the £19,000-a-week manager, but there is still no clear favourite for the vacant managerial position at Goodison Park.
The Merseyside giants are still on the search for a successor to Ancelotti.
Ancelotti’s surprise exit to take charge at Real Madrid leaves Everton desperately needing to make an appointment.
Interestingly, Brighton’s Potter has previously spoken about his admiration for high-profile ex-Everton boss Ancelotti.
“He’s (Ancelotti) had a fantastic career and I think he’s doing a fantastic job at Everton. I think he’s looked at the squad, looked at what he needed to do, made adjustments and improved them,” Potter said in October 2020, as quoted by the Brighton & Hove Independent.
“And yes he’s somebody that I look up to a lot and respect a lot because of the career he’s had and the job that he’s doing currently.”

Potter may be a popular Everton choice
For Everton fans, they are desperate for a new manager to arrive sooner rather than later.
Any new manager needs time to settle. Additionally, there is the busy schedule around the Euro 2020 competition this summer that may complicate some pre-seasons.
Potter, 46, took Brighton to Premier League safety in the most recent campaign with 41 points. However, that doesn’t tell the full story.
His team at the Amex Stadium play some eye-catching football with lots of possession and attacking intent. Unfortunately, they are just missing a goalscorer.
Potter’s profile matches the style of play that Everton supporters desire, but whether he could make the step up to a bigger club is the question.
