Report: Club may agree to sell their star for £50m, amid Arsenal and Liverpool interest

Brighton may reportedly sell their star Ben White for £50million this summer, amid interest from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool.

According to the Daily Mail, Brighton may find an offer in the region of £50million too good to turn down.

The report explains that the 23-year-old’s performances this season has attracted interest from Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Brighton reportedly want to keep their centre-back, but every player has a price tag.

For White, it’s been an incredible week.

The ball-playing centre-half is part of England’s 26-man squad for this summer’s European Championships.

He’s been picked to replace the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold in the Three Lions squad, and has sneaked in after impressing in international friendlies.

White looks good enough for Arsenal and Liverpool, but £50m is questionable

Firstly, White is someone that moving forward could easily be a £50million-plus rated player. He’s excelled in the Premier League as a defender this year, and it was his first season in the top flight.

However, £50million would be a massive gamble for any club this summer.

A strong tournament at Euro 2020 may change a few minds, but right now his price tag looks so high because he’s an England international.

He’s an extremely composed defender, who can also play in midfield, that is great in possession. Additionally, his defensive awareness and reading of the game is spot on.

Arsenal need a centre-half signing more than rivals Liverpool, but forking out a huge eight-figure sum would be a risk.

In other news, Premier League boss confirms talk are ongoing with Liverpool over move to sign their £75k-a-week star.
