Everton have a player with 'bags of potential' in their ranks - Gary Lineker
Gary Lineker has waxed lyrical about Everton winger Demarai Gray following his efforts in Monday night’s Premier League win at Goodison Park.
The Toffees ran out 3-1 winners over Burnley on Merseyside, with Gray getting on the scoresheet.
The 25-year-old, who joined Everton in a reported £1.7million deal in July, scored the Blues’ third goal on the night.
Rafa Benitez’s charges fell behind to Ben Mee’s 53rd-minute header, but turned the game around in a seven-minute salvo.
Michael Keane nodded home on the hour mark before Andros Townsend let rip with a 25-yard rocket five minutes later.
On 66 minutes, Gray raced through on goal from Abdoulaye Doucoure’s pass and netted a composed finish for a solid victory.
The former Bayer Leverkusen ace looked bright throughout the game and the goal was just reward for his efforts.
After the game, Lineker took to Twitter with praise for Gray.
He was “really pleased” for the Everton ace and tipped him to be the bargain buy of the season if he kept up his good work.
Gray has been compared to the likes of Raheem Sterling and even Cristiano Ronaldo in the past.
I know this sounds deluded and it most probably is. But Demarai Gray reminds me of ronaldo when he runs with the ball. So much power!

I have belief in Demarai Gray. Reminds me of Sterling back in LFC. I hope he quickly understands that this football fashion game he plays would not help him at the moment. Efficiency!
