Report: Everton have now ended pursuit of ‘unbelievable’ Newcastle target just hours before deadline

Everton won’t be signing Watford striker and Newcastle target, Joao Pedro, according to the latest from Sky Sports.

Sky’s Transfer Centre (13:41) reports how Pedro has been on the radar of Everton but the Toffees will now walk away from the deal with Watford refusing to lower their demands. It’s claimed Everton have offered a loan to buy deal with a £20m obligation included. Watford were not keen to sell, and would only entertain such a loan offer if the fee was £30m at the end.

The ‘unbelievable‘ Pedro has been on the radar of Newcastle all summer but so far has remained at Vicarage Road.

Tipped to be one of the stars of the Championship season this year, Pedro is being billed as one of the stars of the future and seen by many as being capable of following fellow Brazilian Richarlison from Watford to the very top.

But for now, it seems he won’t be getting that Premier League move just yet. Everton are moving onto other targets it seems while Newcastle splashed out on Alexander Isak last week. It remains to be seen if the Toon will come back to the table, though.

Pedro has already made his mark this season for Watford, scoring two goals in the opening six games of the Championship season for the Hornets.
