Everton fans discuss re-signing Ross Barkley from Chelsea, amid reports
Everton could reportedly look at luring Ross Barkley back to Goodison Park from Chelsea this summer as Rafa Benitez continues his summer revamp. The Toffees could face competition from West Ham, and Barkley’s ex-Everton gaffer David Moyes. It seems Everton fans would love Barkley back.
Barkley, 27, has spent the last season loan at Aston Villa. He struggled to make an impact in his 24 games with the Midlands club. He only scored three goals in that time and returns to Chelsea, where he has less than two years left on his £96,000-a-week contract (Spotrac).
What are Everton fans saying about Barkley back at Everton?
Football site 90Min claim that West Ham and David Moyes want to form a reunion between the Hammers boss and Barkley. But Rafa Benitez is also tempted to raid his old club Chelsea and make a controversial move to bring Barkley back. He left Everton in controversial circumstances.
Everton fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that they could sign Barkley. While some are unsure over a move to get the England international back on Merseyside, it seems some would easily take him back. One fan reckons he would be the club’s best midfielder.
