West Ham United have entered talks to sign Chelsea’s Ross Barkley, 90 Minutes report.
Making moves
West Ham want to add to their midfield ranks this summer, with Jesse Lingard understandably their first choice in the position.
Lingard was a roaring success after arriving at West Ham on loan in January, and David Moyes’ side are eager to take him back.
However, there is a growing feeling that he could stay at Manchester United, and West Ham are now starting to make contingency plans.
That has led them to Barkley, who could be on the way out at Chelsea.
The Blues loaned the England international to Aston Villa last term, and it seems unlikely that he has any sort of future under Thomas Tuchel.

Point to prove
If Barkley was to join West Ham he would arrive with a point to prove.
The playmaker, who was hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson (Super 6), has rather lost his way in recent years and even after a blistering start at Villa he was not able to maintain that level of form.
Barkley has worked with West Ham boss David Moyes before though when he was at Everton.
And their past relationship could help Barkley settle in quickly if he was to move to the London Stadium.
