Everton transfer news: Fabrizio Romano shares optimistic Arnaut Danjuma update
Everton are in an “advanced position” to bring Arnaut Danjuma to Goodison Park, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Toffees boss Frank Lampard is looking for attacking reinforcements as their battle for relegation intensifies.
Meanwhile, Danjuma is available amid a reported ‘breakdown in relations’ with some of his Villarreal teammates.
Everton are one of the clubs reportedly eyeing the Dutchman, along with Tottenham, Bournemouth and Aston Villa.
However, it looks as though the Toffees are leading the race to bring Danjuma back to the Premier League.
“Crucial hours for Danjuma’s future,” wrote Romano on Twitter. “He will make a decision very soon.
“Everton are in advanced position and working on clubs side with Villarreal to get it done.
“There are other clubs in the race, up to Danjuma – Everton have medical tests booked.”
Danjuma joined Villarreal from Bournemouth in 2021 for a reported £22million.
He has registered 22 goals and four assists from 51 Yellow Submarine appearances.
This term, he has six goals from 17 outings.
Low risk, high reward for Everton
Everton are desperate for more firepower, and Danjuma is a good shout to bolster the Toffees ranks.
He has shown his ‘fantastic‘ qualities over the years, has Premier League experience, and is available.
As Danjuma is likely to arrive at Goodison Park on loan, this means it’s a low risk signing for Everton.
If he doesn’t do well, he can just return to Villarreal.
If he does well and keeps the Blues up, then they could potentially sign him.
