Sky Sports share Arnaut Danjuma update amid Tottenham links

Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are just two of the clubs reportedly eyeing Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma.

Last week, the Daily Mail reported that Spurs are in the race for the 25-year-old winger.

As well as Tottenham, the likes of Bournemouth and Aston Villa are also said to be in pursuit.

As per the Daily Mail, Danjuma is available on loan amid ‘a breakdown in relations with some of his Spanish teammates’.

The Netherlands international joined Villarreal from Bournemouth in 2021 for a reported £22million.

Danjuma has registered 22 goals and four assists from 51 Yellow Submarine appearances.

This term, he has six goals from 17 outings.

Both Tottenham and Everton are reportedly looking to bolster their attacking ranks this month.

Spurs have often flattered to deceive this season, despite a strong summer in the transfer market.

Meanwhile, the Toffees are battling relegation and desperately need firepower in hopes of moving out of danger.

Sky Sports has now provided an update on Danjuma amid links with the likes of Tottenham and Everton.

The outlet’s live transfer news feed (17/1/23, 13:46) reported that the player will return to England on Wednesday.

This is for talks with Premier League clubs over a loan switch from Villarreal until the end of the season.

The Spanish club has reportedly given Danjuma permission to speak to clubs over a move.

Nottingham Forest have also been named as suitors for the former Cherries ace.

And Danjuma, who isn’t in the squad for Thursday’s clash with Real Madrid, will reportedly make his decision in the next few days.

Low-risk loan opportunity for Tottenham and Everton – TBR View

A year ago, Danjuma told the Guardian that he thinks he is among the best wingers in the world.

He said: “If we look at what I’ve done (in the 2021/22) season it’s quite fair and factual to say I’m among the best wingers in the world.

“To be the best you need to aim for more, and there’s so much I still want to achieve.

“I work with the striker coach on a daily basis. He sends me clips of every training session. I look into my movement, the way I run, how I pop the ball off.

“I look into my shape, where I stand in the formation. After the game we go through it and see there’s a lot of stuff I can do better.”

Danjuma has certainly shown he’s a top player, and his change in circumstances means Tottenham or Everton (or any other suitors) can benefit.

A loan deal means he can fill in for the rest of the season and then clubs and player can decide what to do at the end of the campaign.

It’s relatively low risk if it’s a straight loan or there’s an option to buy.

If Danjuma doesn’t do well, then he can just return to Villarreal. If he shines, then talks can take place over a potential permanent move.
