Report: Everton working to conclude signing of 'incredible' player alongside Brereton-Diaz, talks advanced

Everton are working on signing a number of attacking players and Sky Sports claims talks for Brighton’s Neal Maupay are advancing as well.

It comes amid reports from 90Min yesterday that the Toffees were working towards a £20m deal to sign Blackburn striker Ben Brereton-Diaz.

And along with Brereton-Diaz, Sky Sports claims that Everton are also in advanced talks to sign Maupay from the Seagulls, with the striker set to snub the likes of Leeds, Fulham, and Forest to move to Goodison Park. It’s claimed talks are ‘advanced’ for the striker, as Frank Lampard ramps up his attempts to bring in attacking reinforcements.

Brighton have already sold the likes of Yves Bissouma this summer and lost Ben White last year as well. But Graham Potter seems to have brought in enough players to cushion those blows, and is clearly open to letting Maupay leave.

The former Brentford striker has been an integral cog in helping Brighton cement themselves as a Premier League team in recent seasons. He’s scored eight goals in each of the last two seasons, while he hit double figures back in the 19/20 season.

TBR’s View: Maupay What Everton Needs

Neal Maupay might not be most prolific striker in Premier League history but at this time, he could be just what the Toffees need. Eight and ten goals in recent seasons is not really to be sniffed at and with Everton’s lack of attackers, Maupay will be welcomed.

Dubbed as being an ‘incredible‘ player by Graham Potter, Maupay will add firepower, experience, and a bit of fight to Everton’s cause. And if they land Brereton-Diaz as well, then that is two strikers who could make a difference.

For Frank Lampard, this is good news. Everton needed forwards and landing Maupay and Brereton-Diaz will certainly boost the entire club.
