Fenerbahce rejected £21m bid for Ferdi Kadioglu
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Turkey and Fenerbahce defender Ferdi Kadioglu for much of the transfer window.
The 24-year-old really impressed at Euro 2024, operating as a left-back, and has attracted interest from Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund, too.
According to journalist Sercan Hamzaoglu, Fenerbahce have now rejected a £21m for Kadioglu from an unnamed European club.
There’s been no further indication of who the club may be, but there’s a fair chance it was Arsenal, considering the Calafiori deal is currently at a standstill.
Ferdi Kadioglu profile
Kadioglu, who has been labelled a ‘rising star’, is an extremely versatile player – which is a trait Mikel Arteta is really big on.
The Fenerbahce man can operate as a left-back, right-back and even in central midfield, which would provide Arsenal with great depth in a number of areas if he were to sign.
He’s under contract until 2026 and is believed to have an asking price of around £29m, so the unknown bidder isn’t far from reaching an agreement.
In other news, Arsenal have agreed to pay £86m for ‘lethal’ striker.
