Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been speaking about his players to Rio Ferdinand ahead of facing Liverpool this weekend.
The Red Devils are looking to get past their bitter rivals to seal a trip to Wembley for their fans. On current form, Liverpool come into the game favourites.
However, Man United and Ten Hag will be confident and hopeful of denying Liverpool the chance at a historic quadruple.
Of course, United will need to be at their best. High standards were a key pillar in Alex Ferguson era and that was something Rio Ferdinand asked Ten Hag about on his recent trip to Carrington for his FIVE YouTube channel.

And responding to Ferdinand about the standard setters in training, Ten Hag admitted that Lisandro Martinez is the main man when it comes to training.
“There are more players but Rafa Varane, Casemiro, Bruno, Licha Martinez, when he is on the training pitch he is always going. He is always front foot. Wants to win, even in small games,” Ten Hag said.
Manchester United need top standards to beat Liverpool
That word, standards, has been something that’s floated about among pundits every since Ferguson left Old Trafford.
The likes of Ferdinand, Gary Neville, and Roy Keane love to speak about it and at times, there has been question marks over this current United squad.
However, it was interesting to hear Ten Hag speaking here about his players. The mention of the experienced players and then the comments on Martinez show that there are some at the club who want to drive things forward.
With Martinez, it’s no surprise really. The £57m man has been a revelation ever since he signed and his injury problems this season haven’t helped United.
With question marks over Bruno Fernandes as captain, if Ten Hag was to replace him in that role, then it seems like Martinez might well be a contender.
