Tottenham Hotspur announced their pre-season plans on Instagram yesterday and Sevilla star Erik Lamela seems like he’s excited.

The Argentine spent eight seasons as a Spurs player and although he never quite fulfilled his potential in North London, he’s adored by Tottenham fans even to this day.

Lamela left Spurs last summer for Sevilla in a deal that saw Bryan Gil move in the opposite direction. He really impressed in Spain and he’s now ready to show his old employers that he’s still a top-quality player.

Erik Lamela sends message after Tottenham announce Sevilla clash

The mood around Tottenham is the best it has ever been in recent years. Spurs are back in the Champions League and Antonio Conte deserves immense praise for the work he has done since his arrival at North London.

It’s time for Tottenham’s stars to relax for a month or so, but the hard work for next season will then begin. Spurs have a whole pre-season planned to get themselves ready for the 2022/23 campaign, and the North Londoners announced yesterday that they will be playing Sevilla.

Spurs announced on Instagram: “We can confirm we will face @sevillafc in the second match of our pre-season tour of Korea this summer, supported by the Club’s Principal Partner,”

Lamela, who will likely be in Sevilla’s squad to face Tottenham, replied to the post by saying: “See you soon guys!”

Big summer awaits Tottenham

Spurs are set to head over to South Korea for a part of their pre-season and Conte, if he stays, will definitely make his players work hard ahead of his first full season at the club.

However, the focus will be on what happens in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Conte guiding Tottenham to the Champions League was an extraordinary achievement, but for him to improve this Spurs side even more, he needs all the help he can get.

Reports have revealed that Daniel Levy will back him in the summer window, which makes it an exciting time to be a Spurs supporter.
