Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier believes forward Harry Kane is getting better every game right now.

Dier was speaking to Football London after their 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday.

Kane scored his ninth league goal of the season from the penalty spot at the weekend.

It’s the 29-year-old’s best start to a Premier League season, and has gone somewhat under-the-radar outside of Tottenham given Erling Haaland’s incredible start.

Dier wasn’t the only one of Kane’s teammates who has been impressed by his start to the campaign.

Ben Davies said it was a ‘pleasure to play’ with Kane, and believes he makes it easy for his teammates because of his ability on the ball.

England fans will be delighted with Kane’s start to the season, as he looks to be going to the World Cup in impressive form.

He could be joined in Qatar by Dier, who finally earned a recall to Gareth Southgate’s squad last month.

Kane is getting better and better – Dier

Speaking after the match about Tottenham’s number ten, Dier said: “I think he’s getting better and better every game.

“I think it’s nine goals in ten games. He doesn’t really get too fussed about what’s going on outside of him and keeps performing.

“Of course, he’s one of the best penalty takers in the world.

“The more you take, there’s always a chance he might miss one. But he’s one of the best at it.”

Antonio Conte has already singled out the ‘fantastic’ Kane for praise this season, and it’s easy to see why.

Tottenham fans will now be hoping to see Kane sign a new contract at the club.

His current deal runs out in 2024, and if he doesn’t sign an extension before next summer, plenty of clubs will be considering a move for Kane.

Journalist Ben Jacobs believes the 29-year-old will sign a new deal if Tottenham qualify for the Champions League.

With Kane appearing to get better and better right now, Conte will be hoping that deal is agreed as quickly as possible.
