Both Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked with Fiorentina striker, Dusan Vlahovic, but it seems both clubs will need to fork out a hefty sum of money if they wish to get their man.

Vlahovic is one of the most in-demand strikers in Europe. 18 goals this season have seen his reputation boom even more, and a host of clubs are keen. Among them, are Tottenham and Arsenal. Indeed, just last week it was reported that Spurs very much still hold an interest in Vlahovic.

However, according to The Express, any move for Vlahovic will come at a cost. As well as the huge fee he’ll command, it’s claimed the Serbian is asking for £200k-a-week after tax. That would put him as the top earner at both Arsenal and Tottenham. Currently, Arsenal pay Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a reported £250k-a-week, while Spurs have Harry Kane on the £200k-a-week mark.

It remains to be seen whether Vlahovic will move in January. Fiorentina accept he will leave, it’s now just a case of who to and for how much.

TBR’s View: Vlahovic Is Quality But Could Put Clubs Off

You have to remember this is a 21-year-old striker with just two good seasons under his belt. Sure, he’s done really well but to be asking for such money is a huge statement really.

Vlahovic and his entourage might be better playing a smarter game here. Unless, of course, they know one of the very big guns, like a Madrid or Juventus, will stump up the money.

For Tottenham and Arsenal, there is a big risk in dishing out such contracts. Bringing a young player in as one of the top earners would risk upsetting the apple cart. Further, it would surely add to the pressure on Vlahovic.

It will be interesting to see who lands the Serbian. But on more than £200k-a-week, it’s an expensive deal.
