Gift Orban was the talk of the transfer market at one point in the summer window.
Tottenham were said to be all over the young striker at one point as they sought out a replacement for Harry Kane, but, ultimately, a move never came to fruition.
Orban had caught the eye for Tottenham after a fantastic season for Gent, but after a tough second term, Spurs are no longer so keen on the centre-forward.
Indeed, speaking on Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel, The Mail’s Josh Hughes has been discussing Spurs and Orban and he says that it’s his understanding that Tottenham have now completely dropped their interest in the £30m man.

Orban no longer a target for Tottenham
Hughes shared what he knows about Orban.
“From what I understand, Spurs have dropped interest in Gift Orban, he was strongly linked in the summer but there was never a bid, there were inquiries from what I was told, but the asking price was high and he’s only scored three or four goals this season,” Hughes said.
Should’ve pushed
Opportunities like this don’t come around all that often in any footballers career, and Orban really should’ve pushed for this move in the summer.
The striker may well end up being a one-season wonder, and he needed to capitalise on his stock being high and earned a move to the Premier League.
Sadly, we have to imagine that many other interested clubs are now starting to have doubts about Orban after a slow second season, and he may be stuck in Belgian Pro League purgatory for quite some time.
Hopefully, Orban can get back on track and still get his big move in the future, but, right now, it looks as though he missed a big opportunity to get his transfer this summer.
