Drameh, Azeez and Dean laud Lewis Bate on Instagram after Leeds loss

Cody Drameh and Miguel Azeez were amongst those to laud Lewis Bate on Instagram after the Leeds United starlet scored his first goal for the club playing for the under-21s on Tuesday.

Mark Jackson’s men were knocked out of the Papa John’s Trophy after a dramatic 5-3 loss at Salford City.

Leeds played some stunning football going forward. Joe Gelhardt stole the show during the first-half with two assists for the visitors.

Some poor defending cost the Whites however. And a difficult second-half saw the game get away from them. But there was some positives.

And Bate was certainly one of them.

The midfielder was introduced at the break. Unsurprisingly, he took little time to start dictating the contest in the middle of the park.

And he left a lot of Leeds fans stunned after scoring a superb goal. He won possession just outside the Leeds penalty area and sprinted almost the length of the pitch to run through on goal.

It briefly appeared that his final touch may have been too heavy. But clearly, Bate knew what he was doing as he lifted the ball over the goalkeeper with a delicious dink as he was closed down.

Bate took to Instagram following the game to express his disappointment at the result, but also his delight at getting a goal…

And in response, a number of teammates lauded the 19-year-old. There were also comments from Arsenal starlet Azeez and Aston Villa youngster Jaden Philogene-Bidace, with both comparing Bate with Usain Bolt…
