Conor Gallagher to Tottenham has been the talk of the transfer window in recent weeks.
The Chelsea midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham throughout the entire winter transfer window, and even on deadline day, there’s been some chat about this move coming to fruition.
However, speaking on Sky Sports News (1/2/24 10:15AM), Jody Morris has cast doubt over this potential move.
Of course, Morris knows Gallagher well from his time at Chelsea, and he says that he’s absolutely certain the midfielder wants to stay at the club as he’s a boyhood Chelsea fan from a family of Chelsea supporters.

Gallagher would want to stay
Morris spoke about the £40m man.
“If you’re talking about Conor Gallagher, he’s been one of the best players we have had this season, the kid is a mad Chelsea fan. His family are all Chelsea. He has been there since he was eight and I bet my house on it that he doesn’t want to leave Chelsea but that doesn’t necessarily mean he is not going to. There have been moments before with Conor where it looks like he was maybe looking at leaving the back door, so I hope it doesn’t happen and hope for all match going Chelsea fans it doesn’t happen,” Morris said.
Might have no choice
As much as Gallagher may want to stay at Chelsea, the reality is that he may have no choice in the matter.
The Blues need to sell players in order to balance the books and as a high-value homegrown talent, the midfielder may be pushed out.
Whether or not Tottenham can get a deal done today remains to be seen, but Gallagher’s future at Chelsea certainly isn’t as secure as Morris makes out.
