Tottenham Hotspur have been busy in the January transfer window and they may not be done yet.
Spurs got the signings of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin over the line early on in the month, and now they’re apparently eyeing a new midfielder.
Tottenham have been linked with a number of midfielders over the past few weeks, but none more so than Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.
Even though the 23-year-old has been a key player for the Blues and has even worn the captain’s armband at times, his future in West London remains uncertain.
With Gallagher’s contract running until the summer of 2025, it looks as though Chelsea are willing to cash in on one of their most exciting assets.

Tottenham ‘still in the race’ for Conor Gallagher
Journalist Paul Brown, writing on GiveMeSport, is confident that Tottenham will make a late approach for the £50,000-a-week midfielder (Spotrac).
“It wouldn’t surprise me at all,” he said, on the prospect of Spurs making a bid. “You might even see something as late as Deadline Day for Conor Gallagher.
“It’s clear that Chelsea are willing to sell him. It’s also clear that nobody is willing to pay the asking price.
“Everyone thinks that Chelsea will fold on this and be willing to accept less than they have publicly hinted he might go for.
“I think Spurs are still in the race here, and I would expect them to be one of the clubs that express an interest right up until the end of the window.
“Conor Gallagher’s position is a really interesting one. I think he could play for many different clubs in the Premier League, and he would certainly do a good job at Spurs.
“I’m fully expecting some kind of offer to materialise late in the day from Spurs.”
Gallagher is a “fantastic” player of the highest quality and, at 23 years of age, he has his whole career ahead of him.
It doesn’t look as though anyone connected with Chelsea wants him gone, but the club’s hierarchy seems willing to sell anyway.
Gallagher would be a superb signing for Tottenham, so let’s see whether the next 29 hours will bring any surprises on that front.
