Bologna director Walter Sabatini has now claimed to Calciomercato. It (via Football Italia) it will be very difficult for clubs to sign Spurs target Takehiro Tomiyasu this summer.
Tomiyasu has been heavily linked with a move in this window. And North London could well be his destination.

Initially, Tottenham were confident of signing the Japan international. Reports claimed talks were reportedly underway.
And it was more recently suggested that the defender had agreed personal terms with Tomiyasu.
However, it now seems that Spurs may have work to do before they land the 22-year-old.

Sabatini commented on Tomiyasu’s future. And he suggested that no move is close at present.
“It is only Bologna who can close a deal and we are not yet at that phase,” Sabatini told Calciomercato.It.
“Let it be clear, Tomiyasu will only move for the valuation that Bologna give him and not the one set by others, so it’ll be very difficult to see him make a transfer.”
Spurs seemingly remain in strong position despite Sabatini comments on Tomiyasu
Sabatini’s comments will come as a surprise to many. Spurs’ previous bid was reportedly not far off Bologna’s asking price.
They also find themselves in a strong position because Tomiyasu is reportedly keen to join Tottenham.
The Athletic recently claimed that he had told Atalanta that his preference is to move to Spurs.
Of course, those reports could have proved to have been a little premature.
But if Spurs are close to meeting his asking price, a deal is surely likely. Fabio Paratici needs to sign defenders this summer.
Tomiyasu can play at centre-back or right-back. And he is young enough to improve significantly.
He may not be a marquee addition at this stage of his career. But he could certainly prove a shrewd signing if Spurs can get a deal done.
