There’s nobody better to convince a transfer target to join your club than a legend getting on the phone.
In Liverpool’s case, they have plenty of people they can rely on to sell Anfield to any potential targets.
The Spanish midfield maestro was talking about his coaching career and Jurgen Klopp.

Alonso also talked about former teammate Thiago, and discussed his role in him joining Liverpool.
Thiago played alongside Alonso at Bayern Munich before his retirement.
The pair won multiple Bundesliga titles together in their 70 shared appearances.
And it’s no surprise Alonso was happy to talk to Thiago about joining Liverpool when a potential transfer was mooted.
Alonso spoke to Thiago about joining Liverpool
“You could see that he’s (Thiago) a different player.” Alonso said.
“He’s a different talent because he’s competitive but at the same time he has those magic Brazilian actions that are not that European.
“He’s competitive but he can do different things.

“He was a great player at Bayern and he continues being consistent and being a great player at Liverpool.
“We talked a lot that summer because he was thinking about the option.
“I (Alonso) said, ‘Thiago, you love football, you’re in a great club, you’re in Bayern and you’ve achieved great things, but Liverpool is pure football and you’re going to enjoy it as much as you have done.
“’If you feel it’s the right moment for a new chapter, you won’t get better places than Liverpool.’”
Thiago has been fantastic but injury prone
Thiago has been a brilliant player for Liverpool when fit to play.
He’s already convinced his Premier League rivals of his ability, and helped the Reds win two cups.
However, he’s yet to manage more than 20 league starts in his time at Liverpool.

Thiago picked up a knock on the opening day of the season against Fulham.
He finally made his return off the bench in Liverpool’s humiliating defeat to Napoli.
Liverpool fans will be hoping to see him from the start against Ajax.
