A number of Arsenal fans have reacted in shock upon finding out that Calum Chambers has left the Emirates Stadium.
On Thursday, the Gunners announced that the 27-year-old had joined Premier League rivals Aston Villa.
Arsenal confirmed that Chambers – whose Gunners contract was set to expire in the summer – joined the Villans for an undisclosed fee.

Chambers joined Arsenal from Southampton in 2014, making the move for a reported £16million.
The defender made 122 appearances in all competitions during his time with the Gunners.
He won the Community Shield on his debut in August 2014 and the FA Cup in 2015.
Chambers also enjoyed two loan spells during his time as a Gunner.
He was at Middlesbrough in 2016-17 and at Fulham in 2018-19, where he won their Player of the Season award.
Sadly, Chambers had been a peripheral figure at Arsenal in recent years.
He only made five appearances for the Gunners this season.
Nonetheless, Chambers did well when he took to the pitch.
Plenty of Arsenal fans lauded his display in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Liverpool.
And news of his move from Arsenal to Villa left some Gooners dismayed:
While it’s a shame to see Chambers go, his Arsenal contract was up in the summer and he didn’t look likely to get a new deal.
Although the Gunners didn’t disclose a fee, some reports – such as The Mirror – claim there’s been no set transfer fee.
Arsenal now look set to save around £50,000-a-week in wages.
And Chambers himself gets the opportunity of regular first-team football right away rather than having to wait for another six months.
