Raphinha is undoubtedly Leeds United’s best player and the Brazilian’s future has become a huge worry to fans amid rumours linking him with a move to Bayern Munich.
Marcelo Bielsa signed the talented winger from Rennes on transfer deadline day in 2020. The Whites forked out £17 million on Raphinha (BBC), and his stock has now arguably tripled.
A number of clubs are keeping an eye on Raphinha ahead of this summer’s transfer window and multiple reports have led us to believe that German champions Bayern Munich are one of the sides who are really keen.
However, Leeds United fans have some good news coming their way now.
Sky journalist: Leeds star Raphinha will not join Bayern Munich
Raphinha will enter the final two years of his contract this summer. It is very likely that he will move on at the end of this season and a move to Bayern would’ve been brilliant for him.
However, Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has rubbished those rumours.
He claimed on Twitter yesterday that he has been told by his sources that Raphinha will not be joining Bayern Munich in the upcoming summer transfer window.
That is good news for Leeds United fans.
TBR View:
Bayern Munich not being an option for Raphinha is certainly good news for Leeds supporters, but the risk of losing him is still very high.
The Brazilian has proven that he has what it takes to be a top player in the Premier League. He has the quality to trouble the big teams in the country as well, which makes him a very attractive option.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for Raphinha. Jurgen Klopp’s men are at the risk of losing one of Sadio Mane and Mo Salah, if not both, and the Leeds United man would be a quality signing.
Leeds fans will surely be hoping that he’ll stay at Elland Road, but the chances of that happening look extremely slim at this moment in time.
