Tottenham Hotspur have already signed one central defender this summer in Clement Lenglet.

However, Spurs boss Antonio Conte reportedly wants another new centre-back at N17 this summer.

And Pau Torres is apparently one of the defenders on Tottenham’s radar.

Reported interest from Spurs in the Villarreal star stretches all the way back to last summer.

90min claim Tottenham want to ‘push ahead with a move’ for the 25-year-old, ‘regardless’ of the Lenglet deal being finalised.

And although Torres reportedly has a £55million release clause, The Mirror claim Villarreal may start business at £45million.

TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook believes there is “definitely interest” in bringing Torres to N17 this summer.

And Giovani Lo Celso, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Villarreal, could be used as part of the deal.

“I was told that there is definitely interest in Pau Torres,” he wrote on GiveMeSport.

“Which brings Lo Celso into play in terms of some kind of part-exchange deal.”

Apparently, Manchester United and Chelsea have also been showing an interest in the “extraordinary” defender this summer.

However, United are closing in on Lisandro Martinez and the Blues have signed Kalidou Koulibaly.

This could potentially lead to those two clubs cooling their interest in Torres and allowing Spurs a clearer path to the player.
