Arsenal are hard at work in training ahead of their big game against Manchester City on Sunday.

The Gunners are on top of the Premier League table at the moment. They are a point ahead of the defending champions, and a win will give them a small cushion as we enter the business end of the campaign.

In his press conference on Friday, Mikel Arteta spoke about the great atmosphere in and around the squad ahead of what is arguably their biggest game of the season.

That can be seen in the training pictures and videos Arsenal have released ahead of the game. Aaron Ramsdale looks like he was enjoying himself yesterday.

Aaron Ramsdale has had a really difficult season.

The Englishman started the campaign as the undisputed number one at the club. Nobody expected that to change, but Mikel Arteta surprised everyone just a month into the season.

David Raya replaced Ramsdale, and despite a few shaky moments early on, the Spaniard has made the number-one spot at the club his own.

That must be really frustrating for Ramsdale, but the Englishman deserves a lot of praise for being a professional and always having a smile on his face in training.

Even on Friday, ahead of the biggest game of the season in which he will certainly not play, Ramsdale was in great spirits.

The Englishman ended up on the winning side in training, and it looks like he celebrated it in style. Even Arteta can be seen smiling in the background in one of the images.

“Golden goal winners. Team on fire,” Ramsdale wrote on Instagram with three pictures.

In the comments, Declan Rice replied: “Some boy!”

The latest on Aaron Ramsdale’s Arsenal future

Aaron Ramsdale will not be the number one at Arsenal – not anytime soon at least.

David Raya came under a lot of criticism early on, but since the turn of this year, the Spaniard has arguably been the best goalkeeper in the Premier League. He has proved a lot of people wrong.

That casts a shadow on Ramsdale’s future as it is certain now that Arsenal will sign Raya on a permanent deal once this season ends in May.

Charles Watts shared the latest on Ramsdale in the Daily Briefing recently, and he thinks there’s only one option for the Englishman.

“I’m certain he will leave,” Watts said.
