Declan Rice was left surprised by Mikel Arteta after starting to work with the Arsenal boss following his move from West Ham United in the summer.
There is no question that Declan Rice has been an amazing signing for the Gunners. Arsenal felt the need to smash their club-record to sign the 24-year-old in the previous window.
As reported by The Athletic, Rice has been voted player of the match by Arsenal fans seven times out of 20 games so far this season.
Declan Rice surprised by Mikel Arteta
Meanwhile, David Moyes noted that Rice would improve any Premier League team as West Ham prepare to travel to the Emirates tonight.

It certainly seems that Mikel Arteta has played his part in taking Rice’s game to the next level. The midfielder has definitely been impressed by the Arsenal boss during his time in North London.
According to The Athletic, Rice was impressed and surprised by the depth of Arteta’s tactical knowledge following his move.
It is noted in the report that the detail that Arteta goes into is so different to what Rice had been used to.
Arsenal midfielder has looked so comfortable since move
The good news for Arsenal is that the midfielder has taken to life at the Emirates like a duck to water. He looks so comfortable in the spine of the side with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.
And he has already scored a number of important goals against the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Luton Town.
Of course, if you are going to spend over £100 million on a player, you should really be confident that they are a potential superstar.
But Arteta still deserves real credit with Rice hitting the ground running at Arsenal. It would have been easy for the pressure to have an impact on his early performances.
But Rice took to the stage so comfortably. And now he surely has to be considered one of the first names on the team sheet.
