David Ornstein shares the latest on Mykhaylo Mudryk to Arsenal rumours

The January transfer window is right around the corner and Arsenal fans have a lot to be excited about regarding Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The Ukrainian has constantly been linked with a move to the Emirates over the last few months. He is a fine talent, and people within the football industry apparently think this move will go through in the winter window.

David Ornstein shares the latest on Mykhaylo Mudryk to Arsenal rumours

Mudryk is almost guaranteed to leave Shakhtar in one of the next two transfer windows.

The Ukrainian has been incredible in his home country this season, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists in all competitions so far. That’s a fantastic return for someone who’s still only 21.

With Arsenal in need of a new attacker, the Mudryk rumours are stronger than ever now. David Ornstein even reported earlier this month that the winger is the Gunners’ priority target in the winter window.

Now, the journalist has claimed that people within the football industry believe Arsenal will get this move done.

Ornstein told HaytersTV: “Mudryk is the player they want to sign. They followed him for a long time, he was on their list of potential candidates during the summer transfer window. They looked at Pedro Neto as the priority then, but now they’ve turned their focus to Mudryk.

“They are in talks with Shakhtar and the player’s representatives. Arsenal are trying to do the deal.

“There are some people you speak to in the industry who think they will get it done. The Kroenkes are backing Edu as technical director and Mikel Arteta as manager to make this big final push to try and win the title.”

TBR View:

Arsenal are currently on top of the Premier League table – five points clear of defending champions Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side, despite the five-point gap, have to be viewed as the favourites to win the league, but the Gunners haven’t had a chance as good as this one in a long, long time. They should do everything they can to go all the way.

The January transfer window is a great opportunity for Edu and Mikel Arteta to bolster the squad. Arsenal have been phenomenal this season, but with one or two strong additions, they could become even better.

Mudryk, branded as ‘unstoppable’, is a really exciting player, and he would fit in very well at Arsenal. Whether they can get the move done, however, remains to be seen.
