Darryl Ombang confirms Leeds move on Twitter
Leeds United may only just be beginning their search for Kiko Casilla’s replacement, but they have seemingly managed to sign a new goalkeeper on Tuesday with Darryl Ombang confirming his move on Twitter.
Ombang has seemingly been Elland Road-bound for a little while. It was reported by the Daily Mail in June that Leeds were closing in on a deal for the 16-year-old.
That report noted that there was interest from Manchester United and Everton. However, it was claimed that Ombang was set to join Leeds.
And the teenager has now confirmed the move on social media. He posted a couple of images showing the goalkeeper at Elland Road.
In one, he appears to be signing a contract. And in the other, he is holding a shirt with the number 21 on the back.

It remains to be seen if that is the shirt he will take. Most recently, it was Pascal Struijk who wore that number.
Of course, Ombang is likely to be setting his sights on game-time with the under-18s and under-23s first. And it appears that he is simply holding the shirt number of the year in which he has signed.
But it does look to be a real coup for Leeds. He is an England under-16 international. And he represented Bradford’s under-18s while he was 14.
Leeds produce another coup with Ombang move
Leeds have done some outstanding work when it comes to strengthening their youth ranks in recent years.
And they have already made a number of signings in that area this summer.
Amari Miller arrived from Birmingham City. Meanwhile, Sean McGurk joined from Wigan.
Now, Ombang has seemingly become the latest to sign up.
