TalkSPORT pundit Darren Bent has claimed that he would take Tottenham Hotspur star Heung-min Son over Marcus Rashford ‘all day long’.

The two forwards are unbelievable players on their day, but only one of them is consistent. That is the Tottenham captain, and Bent had no doubts when he said Son would start over Rashford in his side.

Darren Bent says he’d rather have Heung-min Son over Marcus Rashford

Tottenham signed Heung-min Son from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2015 for just £22 million (Guardian).

The South Korean didn’t have the greatest debut season at the club. He was on the bench half the time and only managed eight goals in 40 appearances that campaign.

Since then, however, Son has been unbelievable for Tottenham. He is one of their greatest players, and there are very few attackers in the Premier League who are as good as him.

Speaking about Son yesterday, Darren Bent and Andy Goldstein had a little debate about the Tottenham captain.

“Who would you rather have? Quick question, I need you to answer it now. Son or Rashford,” Bent asked on talkSPORT.

When Goldstein picked the Manchester United man, Bent couldn’t believe it. “Honestly, look at everyone here looking at you,” he said.

The former Tottenham striker then said: “I’m taking Son all day long!”

Son vs Rashford stats

Heung-min Son has played about the same number of games for Tottenham as Marcus Rashford has for Manchester United over the years.

The ‘world-class‘ South Korean, in 397 appearances for Spurs, has scored 159 goals and provided 88 assists in all competitions. Rashford, on the other hand, has played four fewer games than Son, and his record reads 130 goals and 74 assists.

The difference is not huge there – Son is ahead by 43 direct goal contributions. However, the Tottenham man has come up with the goods for Spurs on so many occasions, and it’s a no-brainer that he is a better player than Rashford.

The one thing that is on the Manchester United star’s side, however, is age – he is over five years younger than Son. So, when both players finish their careers, Rashford will have much better stats than the Tottenham captain.
