Clinton Morrison labelled Heung-min Son world-class as Tottenham Hotspur closed in on victory against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Ange Postecoglou’s men secured a big victory in the race for the top four in the Premier League, coming from behind to beat the Eagles 3-1.

It was Tottenham target Eberechi Eze who put the visitors in front in North London. But goals from Timo Werner, Cristian Romero and Heung-min Son gave Spurs the three points.

Son’s finish was a moment of class, with the 31-year-old finding the bottom corner with a crisp strike from the edge of the box, sending Sam Johnstone the wrong way.

The South Korean made everything look so easy when he ran through. Ultimately, most Tottenham fans would have always expected the captain to score when the chance presented itself.

And speaking on Soccer Saturday (broadcast on Sky Sports; 2/3; 16:48), Clinton Morrison admitted that he was one of those who had absolutely no doubt what was about to happen when the opportunity fell to Son.

“Yeah good goal. They lose it again. Andersen, who’s had a nightmare of an afternoon. And Son gets played in, he’s in on goal. Richards can’t catch him up, and he’s never going to miss. You can see when these world-class players go through, brilliant finish from Son. Just passes it into the bottom corner, fantastic,” he said.

Spurs will back themselves against anyone

Son has been such a consistent goalscorer for Tottenham this season. Since scoring twice in the North London derby in late September, he has not gone more than three games for Spurs without a goal.

And he has been directly involved in 19 goals in the top-flight. He remains one of the best attackers in the division. And his step-up into the captaincy role has been seamless.

And with Werner also scoring, and Brennan Johnson providing two assists, Tottenham must go into every single game believing that they can outscore anyone they come up against.
