Danny Murphy has issued his verdict on reports that Manchester United are now interested in signing Michael Olise from Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace fans have probably been wondering for some time just how long they will be able to hold onto Michael Olise.
It has been suggested that signing Olise would be a good move for Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool. But it seems that he could get the chance to move elsewhere in the Premier League.
Danny Murphy reacts to Michael Olise being linked with Manchester United
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is interested in bringing Olise to Manchester United. It comes with the attacking midfielder scoring five goals in just nine Premier League games this season.

Of course, Manchester United appear to be in a really difficult position right now. Erik ten Hag’s men have lost five of their last eight games in all competitions. And they have not won away from Old Trafford since late November.
Danny Murphy was asked on talkSPORT about whether Olise would be a good signing for United. And while he insisted that he is a fan of the player, he is unsure as to whether he would be the answer for them.
“He’s better than Antony, isn’t he. He’s better than what they’ve got. But he’s unproven. He’s proven at Premier League [level]. But he’s unproven at a big club. United should be going for players who could make competitive with Manchester City. And Olise’s not that yet, although he’s a talent,” he said.
Crystal Palace star may be better off waiting for other opportunities
In truth, it is hard to see why Olise would opt to move to Manchester United right now. They have spent more than a decade now out of genuine title contention. And there are few signs that they are going to be on their way back anytime soon.
They do continue to attract some amazing players. So there is clearly a desire amongst some players to be the ones to take Manchester United back to the summit.
But if Olise ends up being pursued by the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester City, he is surely going to be much more tempted by those opportunities.
