Janusz Michallik has suggested that Arsenal could really do with a player like Michael Olise, insisting that signing him would really help one Gunners star.

The January transfer window is looking to be particularly important for Mikel Arteta’s side. Things have gone a little stale in the last week, with Arsenal losing to both West Ham and Fulham.

Of course, it is not quite clear just how much the Gunners have to spend this month. But with David Raya joining the club on loan at the end of the summer window, it would appear that they may have to be clever with the deals they do.

And thus, signing someone such as Michael Olise would surely be off the table for this month.

The Crystal Palace star is making up for lost time after missing much of the early part of the campaign due to a hamstring injury. He has now scored five goals in his last nine league games, including three in his last two.

And speaking on ESPN about who Chelsea should target this month, Janusz Michallik suggested that he would actually put the 22-year-old on the shopping list of several teams.

“You know the name that they’ve gone after, and I think it’s worth mentioning because Arsenal could use a player like that, I think to a degree Liverpool could use a player like that, and the name of that player for Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool is Michael Olise,” he said.

“I know Liverpool are loaded, but Mo Salah, there’s always that talk maybe he’ll leave, maybe he’ll go elsewhere. You’d like to have a player that’s capable.

“Saka could use a player that challenges him. Olise could play probably on both sides. But part of Arsenal’s issue is that there’s no time to ever rest these players.”

Gunners should definitely put themselves in contention when youngster leaves Crystal Palace

Olise would definitely be an exciting signing for Arsenal. Saka is the only Gunners player to have scored more goals in the Premier League this season. And the Palace star had not played before mid-November.

Mikel Arteta is an admirer of Olise. Meanwhile, former Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira previously suggested that Olise had the talent to play for Arsenal.

It is hard to see any movement in this window. But Arsenal fans will definitely be hoping that they are in the mix when Olise feels that the time has come to take that next step in his career.
