Fabrizio Romano says that Liverpool may have to break the world-record to sign Jude Bellingham next summer on Que Golazo.
Liverpool are known to be interested in Bellingham, and have been for some time, but Borussia Dortmund believe his price-tag could go through the roof.
Bellingham has already been talked about as a £100 million player, but Romano has now suggested that the price-tag could rise to unprecedented levels for a midfielder if he excels at the World Cup in Qatar.

The 19-year-old is seen as one the most promising midfielders in Europe and has excelled for Dortmund since making the switch from Birmingham City in 2020.
And if the youngster enjoys a brilliant campaign in Qatar for England, Liverpool may have to smash the world-record to sign him.
Liverpool could be involved in world record breaking transfer race
Speaking on the Que Golazo YouTube channel, Romano provided an update on Bellingham’s future.
“Now with Bellingham, will have English clubs absolutely with the intention to sign him.
“Liverpool is one of them, as they want to sign an important midfielder in the summer and Bellingham is on the list, but Manchester City are always keeping an eye on his situation. They will be there.
“But also Spanish clubs with Real Madrid, Bellingham is a player who they have on the list. Nothing will be decided now, also because Borussia Dortmund want to wait until the World Cup.”
The transfer insider then explains that due to the interest in Bellingham, the race to sign him will be ‘crazy’.
He added: “It will be a crazy, crazy race so get ready for many months of rumours.”
Romano was then asked about Dortmund’s valuation of Bellingham and claims it could rise to a record breaking fee after the World Cup.
“They want to sell because it’s part of their project and strategy,” he said.
“The price, it depends on the World Cup. If Bellingham does great it could be something like 140, 150 million Euros.
“As of right now I would say it will be more than 100 million Euros which will make him the most expensive midfielder of all time, and it’s deserved.”

Liverpool aren’t renowned for smashing world-record fees but have shown in the past that they will pay big for players that fit the project.
In Bellingham, Liverpool could be signing a star for their midfield for the next decade.
At just 19, the English midfielder has already played at the highest level and looks set to start under Gareth Southgate in Qatar next month.
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool are willing to smash their record transfer fee to sign Bellingham next summer.
