Conte wants Hojbjerg to follow him if he leaves Spurs for Juventus

Antonio Conte would like to take Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg with him if he leaves Tottenham Hotspur for Juventus in the summer, according to a surprise report from Calciomercatoweb.

Conte’s future with Spurs looks to be incredibly uncertain. The Italian has probably not made the kind of progress he would have hoped for when he arrived just over a year ago.

The Evening Standard notes that his contract is currently set to expire in the summer. And it is not clear whether he plans to extend his stay in North London.

Conte wants Hojbjerg to follow him if he goes to Juventus

Calciomercatoweb suggests that a return to Juventus is looking increasingly likely. And he will not be returning to Turin alone, it seems.

According to the report from Calciomercatoweb, Conte would like Juve to also sign Hojbjerg amid doubts over the future of Adrien Rabiot.

If that wasn’t surprising enough, the report also claims that Tottenham could take less than £35 million for the Denmark international.

In truth, it would be a big surprise if Hojbjerg left Spurs for Conte’s next club for less than £35 million.

Perhaps Conte will leave. The coming months are going to be crucial in determining what direction Tottenham go in beyond this season. And thus, it would be a big surprise if he had decided anything just yet.

Juventus may be where he ends up, too. He obviously has history with the Old Lady. And Massimiliano Allegri’s second spell has not always gone to plan.

But surely, there is little chance of Conte leaving and taking Hojbjerg with him. The Tottenham hierarchy will be under enough pressure if they fail to convince the Italian to stay.

Hojbjerg has divided opinion amongst fans at times since his £20 million move. But he has been a key player throughout his spell with the club, with Hugo Lloris labelling him ‘amazing‘. And Spurs will not want him to leave and thrive under Conte elsewhere.

So this definitely appears to be a rumour which could ultimately come to little.
