Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte, has personally asked transfer supremo Fabio Paratici to go out and land him a new central midfield player this month above anything else.
It’s widely accepted that Spurs are looking for a host of new players this month. A new striker, defender, right wing-back, and midfielder are all said to be on the club’s radar. However, according to Football.London, it is in central midfield where Conte has personally asked for Paratici to pursue options.
Football.London claims Paratici is now actively scouring the market for a new midfielder. However, whoever he goes for must fit in to both the budget, and Conte’s preferred method of play. That means the former Juventus man faces a tricky task getting the right man in.

A number of names are mentioned in FL’s report. Franck Kessie has been linked all month, while Jessie Lingard could be someone to revisit closer to the summer.
For the moment, Tottenham have players like Skipp, Hojbjerg, and Winks in the middle. However, all three are of a similar make up, and Conte is likely to want something different. Tanguy Ndombele could also leave, while Dele Alli is once again struggling.
TBR’s View: Tottenham Need The Right Midfielder, Not Just Anyone
It is vital that Spurs get their recruitment right under Conte. If they blow it, then they might blow the chance of success under the best manager they’ve hired in years.
Conte will have an idea who he likes the look of. It’s likely he’ll want someone who can drive forward with the ball a bit more and influence things higher up the pitch. Likewise, his high intensity style will require someone with energy.
Paratici will be feeling the pressure here. He needs to make sure he gets the right player, with the right quality and attitude to make an immediate impact.
