Tottenham Hotspur will hope to make amends for their disappointing midweek defeat when they head to Leeds today.

Spurs recorded a superb 3-2 win over Manchester City last week but couldn’t follow it up against Burnley.

One issue Tottenham boss Antonio Conte needs to address is at right wing-back.

Both Emerson Royal and Ryan Sessegnon were disappointing in the 1-0 loss at Turf Moor on Wednesday.

Dejan Kulusevski finished the game at right wing-back and he could well start there at Elland Road.

Conte has often talked about the 21-year-old’s versatility and ability to play at right wing-back.

Football Italia quoted Conte as saying earlier this month: “About Kulusevski, he is a good player.

“He is very young, he is a great talent and he can play like a number 10 with the strikers.

“But at the same time he has the potential to play wing-back on the right, he has good quality.

“He likes to attack, he is good on a one vs one, to create chances for teammates. A good signing for us.”

And on Friday, the Tottenham boss reiterated Kulusevski’s suitability in that position.

“Kulusevski is another player who can play in this role, and give us quality, and can be also a good solution for us in this position,” Conte said.

Given it’s such a pressing issue, there’s a good chance the Spurs coach will give Kulusevski a go at right wing-back.

This would mean a shuffling of the pack up front, with Lucas Moura or Steven Bergwijn returning up front.

Leeds’ defence hasn’t been great in recent weeks, but they can be threatening in attack.

Therefore, it’s a good game for Conte to try this out, and if it works well, he can use it in future.

Roberto Martinez recently described Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur as “sensational” signings.

With Bentancur now on the sidelines, it’s time for his younger teammate to step up and hopefully provide a solution at right wing-back.
