Tottenham might not have made many signings in the January transfer window but according to Roberto Martinez, the two they have signed are going to be a success.
Both Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski have made a big impression already at the club. In particular, Kulusevski put in a fine full debut performance for Spurs at Man City yesterday. Kulusevski helped himself to a goal and an assist yesterday. Bentancur, meanwhile, played a fine pass over the top to release Kulusevski for the winning goal.

And speaking ahead of the game yesterday, Belgium manager Roberto Martinez backed the new Tottenham signings – and Conte – to be a huge success with Tottenham.
“If I was a Spurs fan I would be delighted to see how Antonio Conte can shape their project. He can be emotional to motivate and you saw in the game against Leicester where they went from losing to winning, that is Conte. He is working on the mentality and personality of the group, he is going to bring players in and you need to give him a list over three windows.
“What he did with Inter was one of the hardest jobs in European football, beating Juventus to the Scudetto, and he did it in 12 months. I think he is totally capable of doing that at any level. The two signings – Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur – are sensational signings they could bring something special,” Martinez told BBC Sport prior to kick off.
TBR’s View: Martinez Looks Spot On Over Kulusevski And Bentancur
Expectations might not have been as high with Bentancur and Kulusevski as some of the other names who were mentioned in January. However, the pair are already looking quality additions.
Both players played very well against the very best team in the country yesterday. If they can do it against City, then that should serve them well for future games.
Certainly, Antonio Conte will be delighted with the duo so far.
