Sunderland are trying to sign Charles Sagoe Jr from Arsenal after initially looking at a loan deal for Manchester United winger Amad Diallo.
That is according to Football Transfers, which has reported Arsenal winger Sagoe Jr’s stance on a potential loan move to Sunderland.
So, what has been reported about Arsenal, Sunderland and Charles Sagoe Jr? Let’s take a look.
Sunderland linked with Arsenal winger Charles Sagoe Jr
Well, according to Football Transfers, Sunderland are interested in signing Charles Sagoe Jr from Arsenal on a loan deal in the final days of the January transfer window.
The report has claimed that Sagoe Jr is already in talks with Sunderland over a switch to the Championship club for the rest of the season.

There are other clubs interested in the 19-year-old winger too, but it is Sunderland “who are pressing ahead” for the signature of the teenager from Arsenal, who have been linked with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Football Transfers has noted that Sunderland had initially looked at signing Amad Diallo this month, but they are now focusing on getting a deal done for Sagoe Jr instead.
Diallo, who cost Manchester United £19 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Atalanta (BBC Sport), was on loan at Sunderland last season. He scored 14 goals and gave three assists in 29 Championship starts for the Black Cats.
My View: Charles Sagoe Jr should consider Sunderland loan move
In my opinion, Arsenal winger Charles Sagoe Jr should seriously consider a loan move to Sunderland in the final days of the January transfer window.
Sunderland are a massive club with a strong fanbase. They have a very competitive team and are aiming to win promotion to the Premier League.
Michael Beale’s side are in the running for the Championship playoffs, so Sagoe Jr would be in a very competitive environment where a lot is at stake.
If Sunderland want Sagoe Jr, then clearly they think highly of him and have a plan for him.
The 19-year-old winger would not get to play week in and week out for Sunderland, but he could get valuable playing time as a substitute.
Sagoe Jr has never been out on loan before, and I think that the teenager could do with the experience of being in a situation where a result matters.
The Championship is a notoriously tough, intense and rigorous domestic league, and I believe that Sagoe Jr would be a better and more mature player by experiencing it.
