Tottenham’s search for a new defender could wind up taking them to Mexico in the form of Uruguayan defender, Sebastian Caceres.
Spurs are looking for a new defender in January and are looking at a number of options to fill the void.
Tosin Adarabioyo is one name being mentioned, while Jean-Clair Todibo is also being heavily linked with a move to north London.
However, according to Tuttomercatoweb, another player Tottenham could look to sign is Sebastian Caceres.
Tottenham could sign Sebastian Caceres
According to TMW, Italian outfit Torino have made a £6m bid for Caceres as they look to lure him to Serie A.
However, there is a worry among those at the Serie A club that the defender could end up moving to Tottenham instead.
It’s reported that Spurs hold an interest in the Uruguayan defender and if Torino don’t see their terms accepted, Caceres could look to move to England.

Caceres would have no trouble in settling in at Spurs should he make the move. The defender plays in the international team with Rodrigo Bentancur, while there’s also a small contingent of South American players at the club as well.
Tottenham keeping their options open
It very much seems like Tottenham have their eyes cast far and wide when it comes to looking for a new defender.
As mentioned above, the likes of Todibo being on the radar and then Caceres over in Mexico suggest this is a club who will leave no stone unturned in their quest for new additions.
Certainly, Caceres would be at the cheaper end of the spectrum when it comes to January signings.
However, at just 24, there is room for Caceres to improve further and get better, something Postecoglou will relish working on.
Certainly, this is one for Spurs fans to keep an eye on.
