Vitaly Janelt has compared reported Tottenham Hotspur target Christian Eriksen to Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne.
The Dane and Janelt have been together at Brentford for a few months now and the latter has become a big fan. Eriksen just playing football is an extraordinary achievement, but to perform at the highest level against the best sides shows just how incredible a player he is.
Eriksen will be out of contract this summer, and he has been heavily linked with a return to Tottenham. Janelt, however, is hoping he will stay with the Bees beyond the end of this season.
Tottenham-linked Christian Eriksen compared to Kevin de Bruyne
In an interview with German outlet SportBuzz this week, Brentford star Janelt said: “(Eriksen is) Outstanding.
“He’s great as a person and as a footballer. We all benefited from his calmness, his experience and his class. Everyone pulled themselves up from him and said: If someone like that plays for us, we all have to step it up a notch.
“He reminds me of Kevin de Bruyne in style and has a similar class.
“He came at a time when things weren’t going so well for us. He turned things around. The transfer was worth it for all sides. His contract expires after the season. I would be happy if he stays with us.”

TBR View:
If a player of Eriksen’s quality is available on a free transfer, you’d be silly not to consider signing him.
A return to Tottenham is not just a fairytale for the Dane and Spurs fans, he’s exactly the kind of midfielder that Antonio Conte’s side currently need.
Eriksen is brilliant in the final third, can score and create goals and as he showed season after season at Tottenham, he’s one of the most reliable players Spurs have ever had.
The summer transfer window is right around the corner and it really will be interesting to see if Tottenham will get him back.
