Spurs midfielder, Christian Eriksen, looks like he is finally on his way out of the club as Inter Milan appear to have won the race to sign him.
The Danish midfielder’s future has been one of the long-standing talking points for the club. Indeed, new manager Jose Mourinho only said a few weeks back he was hoping for Eriksen to stay put.
However, according to a report from Danish media outlet Ekstra Bladet, Eriksen has agreed a deal to move to Serie A with Inter.
It is believed the clubs have agreed a fee in the region of £20m for the Danish star. That will please Spurs supremo Daniel Levy, who was fearful of losing the midfielder for nothing.
Eriksen has been a key component for Spurs in the last few seasons. Alongside Harry Kane and Dele Alli, he has been the driving force behind a team who reached the Champions League final last season.
TBR View – Let’s all move on
Christian Eriksen is a fine player. There’s little doubting he is one of the top midfield players in world football on his day.
However, this has been a cloud over Spurs for far too long now. Getting some money for him was probably the best thing that could happen for all parties.
Inter Milan is a strange move though. After being linked with Madrid, PSG, and others, a move to Inter seems somewhat underwhelming for Eriksen.
But, they are probably paying him a nice chunk of money and in fairness, Serie A is still a good league.
Hopefully the club and player can now move on and Spurs can look forward to life without Christian Eriksen.
