Chris Sutton has now given his thoughts on what the PGMOL should do after Mikel Arteta and Arsenal’s recent statement.
The pundit was speaking on the BBC’s ‘Monday Night Club’ and thought that the PGMOL should share a jovial statement back.

Sutton clearly wasn’t impressed with Arsenal’s decision to back Arteta, and thought that the PGMOL should now point out some of the manager’s mistakes.
Moreover, the pundit pointed to the manager’s selection of Kai Havertz and David Raya as place where he can also improve.
Sutton said: “It would have been good if the PGMOL had come out with a statement back to Mikel Arteta and said, ‘Maybe worry about your own team and your own signings. Why are you playing Havertz, week in, week out?’
“Raya, who he persists with flapped at the cross and that’s the truth of it and that’s where maybe some of Arteta’s frustration came out. Maybe he’s angry at himself.
“But there are things that he can control and do better. This was an Arsenal who have been wonderful to watch under Arteta, but they barely laid a glove on Newcastle United.”
Sutton thinks Arteta should focus on his own decisions at Arsenal
Of course, some Arsenal fans may actually agree with Sutton in some respects.
Both Havertz and Raya have been controversial selections since signing in the summer.

However, it’s very hard to argue against the idea that Arsenal were wronged by decisions at Newcastle.
And other fans will point out that Arsenal are perfectly right to back Arteta, and that Sutton is missing the point.
It’s a debate that is bound to stretch over the next few weeks, and it does seem that the PGMOL are unlikely to respond to Arsenal in any case.
And as they surely are, Arsenal and Arteta will now just have to focus on the coming fixtures as they aim to improve their form.
Sevilla will be a difficult tie as always in Europe, and then Arsenal will enjoy something of an easier run in the Premier League.
But given how the side are struggling creatively right now, they can’t afford to take any team lightly.
And Arsenal will now have to face these games without Thomas Partey.
It has now been confirmed that the often-injured midfielder may be out until the New Year.
