Arsenal came within moments of a huge win against Manchester City on Sunday with John Stones ruining the party for the Gunners.
Having played the entire second-half with ten men and kept their reigning Premier League champions at bay, Arsenal’s resilient defence was finally broken in the 98th minute with Stones finding the finish needed in a cramped penalty box to secure a point for City.
With Gabriel Magalhaes once again winning praise for his performance for Arsenal, the north London side will feel gutted after coming within mere seconds of one of their biggest results under Mikel Arteta since his appointment.
Yet Chris Sutton has now accused one Arsenal player of being ‘a master’ of time wasting.

David Raya’s time wasting highlighted after ‘marvellous game’ for Arsenal
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, the pundit noted how David Raya did as much as he could to waste time against City, with the Arsenal goalkeeper spending as long as possible holding onto the ball and even going down at one point with a supposed injury.
With City eventually breaking down Arsenal’s defence, though, Raya ended up as the butt of the joke despite an incredible performance from the Spanish international, who kept the Gunners in tie for as long as they did.
And for Sutton, Raya’s participation in the dark arts was something to admire, with the £30m summer signing from Brentford winning praise from the pundit for his performance against City despite wasting a lot of time.
The pundit said when talking about the Arsenal star’s performance against City: “David Raya, every time he got the ball, 20 seconds at least, every time he got the ball. He had a marvellous game, but he was a master at just wasting time.”

Raya is becoming one of Arsenal’s most important players this season
It’s been quite a season already for Raya between the sticks following the goalkeeper’s permanent move to north London this summer, with the Arsenal no. 1’s performances reaching a new level that few would have expected.
Raya has now managed four outstanding performances in all competitions for Arsenal after the shot-stopper’s heroics against Aston Villa, Tottenham, and Atalanta, with City now added to the catalogue for this season.
Without Raya, Arsenal would not be riding high like they currently are in the Premier League, and Arteta’s decision to replace Aaron Ramsdale with the Spanish international has, once again, proven to be an incredible decision from the Basque coach.
