Football journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Chelsea will consider signing Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane next year.

The Englishman will enter the final 18 months of his Spurs contract in January. He’s still one of the best strikers in world football, and new Blues owner Todd Boehly is apparently very keen to pull off a marquee Premier League-proven signing next year.

Chelsea will consider signing Harry Kane from Tottenham in 2023

Chelsea have made a few impressive signings since Boehly took over the club from Roman Abramovich in the summer. Raheem Sterling is arguably their biggest new name, but the new Blues owner is apparently keen to bring in a few more massive players.

Jacobs has claimed that Kane is definitely one of them.

The journalist revealed that Chelsea will look at Kane next year ‘for sure’. He believes that the Blues want a big-name Premier League player who will come in and hit the ground running – similar to what Gabriel Jesus has done at Arsenal.

He said in a video on The Football Terrace YouTube channel: “We know that there was interest from Manchester City a few seasons back. Chelsea are the more likely threat coming from the Premier League at the moment.

“They will look at Harry Kane for sure.

“Todd Boehly is very keen on showing Chelsea can bring in proven Premier League players, particularly attack-minded players.

“They want a marquee name from within the Premier League, they want to bring in someone to hit the ground running, look at Gabriel Jesus, how beneficial he has been to Arsenal. Jesus has just been able to transition instantly, Kane would be able to transition instantly.”

Ferdinand thinks Kane is ‘getting ignored’

Kane has started the new season in brilliant fashion.

The Tottenham striker has scored nine goals and provided two assists in 13 games in all competitions so far. He looks fantastic, but Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has come out and claimed on his YouTube channel that Kane is ‘getting ignored’.

That’s because Erling Haaland has set the Premier League stage on fire since joining Manchester City in the summer. He has scored 20 goals in all competitions already, and he’s the only number nine people are talking about.

However, if Haaland wasn’t around, Ferdinand believes people would be raving about Kane and saying: “Oh, he’s the best number nine in the world, look at the stats.”

Well, if Jacobs is to be believed, Chelsea definitely aren’t ignoring Kane and neither are Tottenham fans.
