Just weeks after Tottenham apparently declared an interest in Memphis Depay, it seems the Dutchman has now been offered to Chelsea as well.
It was reported in June that Tottenham were among the teams looking to sign Depay as an option in attack. Of course, nothing has move on since then in that regard, with Spurs instead signing Clement Lenglet and trying to get a deal for Djed Spence over the line.

And in what seems to be a pattern of this summer when it comes to certain English clubs, the Daily Mail has now reported that Depay has indeed been offered to Chelsea. The Blues and Barca are no strangers to each other this summer anyway, with Chelsea having lost Andreas Christensen to the Camp Nou and persistent interest in Cesar Azpilicueta. Both clubs have also been fighting it out for Leeds star, Raphinha.
Whether or not Chelsea take up the offer to land Depay remains to be seen. Labelled as a ‘world class‘ operator, the former Manchester United and Lyon star is said to be available for around £20m.
TBR’s View: Depay Should Interest Most Premier League Teams
Despite his failure at Manchester United when a bit younger, Depay has gone on to have a superb career at club and international level. With that in mind, and with Barca open to selling, the Dutchman would be a sound addition for PL clubs.
Both Chelsea and Tottenham could use him, albeit he might have to contend with being more of a squad player than being a regular in the XI.
£20m is pocket change to Premier League teams nowadays and if Depay is to leave Spain, then he might just fancy proving everyone in England wrong. Certainly, both Chelsea and Tottenham could target far worse players than him.
