TBR Football understand Chelsea are monitoring Samuel Omorodion Aghehowa of Porto – who was a target last summer – amid doubts over the futures of Christopher Nkunku and Felix at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal also need a new striker after Mikel Arteta lost Gabriel Jesus to a serious knee injury.
TBR Football understand Arsenal enquired about RB Leipzig No.30 Benjamin Sesko – who the Bundesliga side are keen to keep this winter – while the Gunners have also asked about Duran.
However, sources have now informed TBR Football that Chelsea are also thinking about Jhon Duran ahead of the February 3rd transfer deadline.
Chelsea join Arsenal in enquiring about Jhon Duran
Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – has now been informed that Chelsea asked about the South American during talks with Aston Villa over Felix and Disasi.
We understand Duran – who Aston Villa value at over £100m – is keen to become a talismanic figure and a regular starter elsewhere, having made just four Premier League starts under Unai Emery this season, who prefers Ollie Watkins.
Aston Villa are in talks to sign the aforementioned Felix from Chelsea as a replacement for Emiliano Buendia – who is moving to Bayer Leverkusen – and it is understood the Blues asked about the Colombia international during these discussions.

It comes after Arsenal asked about Duran – who West Ham saw a £57m bid rejected for – as Arteta aims to replace Jesus.
The Aston Villa No.9 has scored 12 goals in 29 appearances so far this season.
Despite Emery preferring Watkins, TBR Football understand Aston Villa do not want to lose Duran this winter as they aim to progress in the UEFA Champions League and also finish in the top four of the Premier League.
What Alan Shearer has previously said about Jhon Duran
At the age of just 21, the man from Medellin has already made plenty of headlines.
Those include lobbing Manuel Neuer to secure a historic 1-0 win for Aston Villa in the UEFA Champions League against Bayern Munich, while Alan Shearer has also heaped praise on Duran.
After the Aston Villa No.9 scored a phenomenal goal against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League, the Premier League’s record goalscorer said: “We (spoke about) the damage he could cause (off the bench). He sort of bends it and the dip that he gets on it. Great attitude. I love that, when you are prepared to have a pop at goal from there. Have a shot, why not?”
