Chelsea had scouts watching £100m attacking midfielder score this weekend

Chelsea are among the clubs to be keen on signing Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and had him scouted in person this weekend.

Kvaratskhelia starred for Georgia with a few goals as well, impressing all those onlooking Premier League clubs who had made the trip to watch him.

Kvaratskhelia, 22, is among the most sought-after players in Europe after being outstanding for Napoli for around two seasons now.

And according to 90Min, Chelsea are among the clubs to have sent scouts over to watch Kvaratskhelia play in Georgia’s defeat to Spain this weekend. It was a game he scored in, too, despite the poor result.

Quite who will be able to afford Kvaratskhelia remains to be seen. Napoli are believed to be under no pressure to sell and reports of a £100m asking-price have been touted.

Kvaratskhelia would be a better Mudryk at Chelsea

Lauded as player who is ‘breath-taking to watch‘ by Owen Hargreaves, there is certainly so much to like about Kvaratskheli.

Along with Victor Osimhen at Napoli, he has lit things up in Europe and looks very much like being one of the next big players to emerge on the scene at one of the game’s giant clubs.

Interest is obviously high in him and as well as Chelsea, the likes of Man City and Newcastle were also thought have scouts in attendance.

For Chelsea, the idea they can sign a winger who is proven on the Champions League stage will be appealing. The Blues spent a huge amount on Mykhailo Mudryk but that signing has not worked out at all thus far.

With Kvaratskhelia, you very much get the impression he is already a far more complete player and would adapt quickly to the English game.

Whether or not Todd Boehly will sanction yet another £100m, though, remains to be seen.
