The Italian journalist has reported that Chelsea are ready to step up their pursuit of the Brazilian winger.

The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are considering triggering the 16-year-old Brazilian winger’s release clause of €60 million (£52.06 million).

Galetti has added that Chelsea anticipate fierce competition from Spanish and European giants Barcelona for Estevao.

The teenage winger, who is also known as Messinho, is keen on a move to Europe.

As reported by Football Espana, Estevao cannot leave until 2025 when he turns 18.

Mundo Deportivo has reported interest in the winger from Arsenal as well. Manchester City, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also keen on the winger, who wants to play for Barcelona.

My View: Chelsea should not sign Estevao Willian for £52m

In my opinion, Chelsea should not trigger the release clause in Estevao Willian’s contract. Absolutely not.

Estevao is only 16 now. The Brazilian winger will not be able to move to Chelsea for another two years. He will be 18 then.

It could take the winger a while to settle into life in England and to adapt to the Premier League.

Chelsea simply cannot spend £52 million in January on a player who may not establish himself in the first team for a few more years.

The Blues have to think of the first team for now and have to make sure that they can get back to challenging for the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League in the next one or two years.
